Important patient notice

We have now moved to an online triage system for all medical and admin requests. Please use our new online form. It is quick and safe and helps our clinicians prioritise care and direct you to the most suitable support. This change is part of a national NHS programme to improve access for patients. Find out more information.

We know that change can be difficult and we are all getting used to this new system. Sadly, since moving to online triage, our reception team has faced unacceptable behaviour from a small number of patients. Our reception and administrative teams are here to help you, so please speak to them with respect and kindness.

Woosehill Medical Centre has a zero tolerance policy for abusive or rude behaviour towards our staff.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Woosehill Medical Centre supports Clinical research.

Clinical Trials are vital to the future of healthcare, helping find better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat conditions. That’s why we’re supporting researchers in recruiting eligible patients like you.

We actively support various types of research aimed at improving patient outcomes. New treatments, technologies, care approaches, and devices must all be carefully and safely tested in real-life healthcare environments. Clinical research in these settings is funded separately and adds significant value to patient care. All clinical research support activity at our surgery is thoroughly reviewed to ensure it is safe.

A strict code of conduct is at the heart of all our work to ensure data is always confidential. Personal information – what is it? | ICO. If you wish to opt out of medical data research in the future, you can find out how to opt out of medical data research via the NHS website. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our past and present patients who have participated in research.

What we are part of

We are part of a network of local practices taking part in high-quality research activities funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)- Research Delivery Network– South Central.

Woosehill Medical Centre uses EMIS Web software to store our patients’ electronic medical records. EMIS Recruit is a feature within the EMIS Web that allows the practice to easily identify and recruit patients for clinical research studies, providing a way for patients to readily participate in relevant research directly through their GP surgery. You may receive a text or email from EMIS Recruit about clinical research, as you may be identified as a potential participant. You can accept or decline the invitation by following the instructions and links provided in the message.

We contribute to the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), a real-world research service supporting retrospective and prospective public health and clinical studies.

We are part of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Research Surveillance Centre (RSC) which means that we contribute de-identified data to the RSC for public health research. The RSC is an active research and surveillance unit that collects and monitors data, in particular Influenza, from practices across England.

Individual patients cannot be identified from this information.
