To help keep our patients, visitors, and staff safe, Woosehill Medical Centre uses CCTV cameras around the building.
Why do we use CCTV?
- To protect patients, staff, visitors, and NHS property.
- To help prevent and investigate crime, theft, and anti-social behaviour.
- To support the safety and security of the practice.
Important points
- CCTV is in operation 24/7.
- Cameras cover public areas such as entrances, corridors, patient waiting areas, and the car park.
- Cameras are not used in consulting rooms, treatment rooms, toilets, or other private areas.
- No cameras on the first floor
- Images are stored securely and usually kept for 30 days before being deleted, unless needed for an investigation.
Who can see the footage?
- Only authorised staff can view recordings.
- Footage may be shared with the police or other authorised bodies if required by law.
- Individuals can request to see images of themselves (a “Subject Access Request”)
If you wish to request access to images of yourself, please note:
- We cannot provide footage that shows other people, as we do not have redaction software.
- Requests are considered case by case and may be refused if others are identifiable.
- Where possible, we may provide still images of you only.
- All Subject Access Requests must be submitted in writing, accompanied by valid proof of identity and one proof of address less than 3 months old.
- A CCTV Subject Access Request form is available at the practice reception.
