NHS England has published a new guide called “You and Your General Practice”. This explains what you can expect from us as your GP practice, and how you can make the best use of NHS services.
What the guide covers
- How and when to contact us – including what to do if the practice is closed.
- Appointments – how we respond to your requests and the different types of appointments available (face-to-face, phone, online).
- Who you may see – a GP, nurse, pharmacist, or another trained professional.
- Registering with a practice – what you need to know if you’re new, moving, or registering temporarily.
- Your rights and responsibilities – such as access to translation services, providing feedback, and treating staff and other patients respectfully.
- How you can help us – including cancelling appointments you can’t attend, ordering prescriptions in good time, and joining our Patient Participation Group.
