VESPER Trial for Women with Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections

We are sharing information about the VESPER Trial. This is a Department of Health and Social Care funded study that is looking at the best ways to prevent recurrent urinary tract infections in women who have not responded to first line treatments.

The trial is run by The Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust and the Centre for Trials Research at Cardiff University. The study is comparing two commonly used intravesical treatments with standard oral antibiotic prevention.

The research site for our area is the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Women aged sixteen years and older who have recurrent urinary tract infections may be able to take part. To read more and check if you are eligible please visit:

Together we can support research that aims to improve the care and health of women with recurrent urinary tract infections.
